Christmas continues

Peace
This bowl is filled with silver pinecones, white frosty branches, silver and blue ornaments
and a bit of Peace all rolled into one

Snowmen playing peekaboo

Do you remember those candlesticks?  They are from the PB knockoffs,
I wrapped the candles in sheer glittery ribbon and placed them with the
ice looking angel (she illuminates different colors, softly)
The tray is filled with silver and powder blue Christmas ornaments from my favorite
Dollar Store, with silver pine cones tucked inside, drizzled with old fashioned "rain"
that is normally used for decorating your Christmas Tree, a few curly ribbons and
a few dashes of white and silver glitter that shine perfectly when the light touches each piece.

Oh Christmas Tree, victorian christmas tree... I bought this little tree at a yard sale complete with lights and decorations for $1.00...Who else thinks of Christmas in mid June??? I added the beads and a few little roses and it is more beautiful... I wanted to add a bit of charm and interest to the tree so I decided to wrap empty boxes, well, they were "OK" but, there weren't any that were small enough...9 year olds aren't around for homework and chores only... ( ha ha)  I borrowed a few legos, stacked a few, and wrapped a few to give us more shapes of gifts...  Pretty Clever, she said... :)

The sleigh was a yard sale find for $.25, yep, the same June yard sale.  I filled it with the white feather tree, added gold ornament balls, covered the bottom of the sleigh and the bottom of the tree with a burgundy cloth napkin, hand made snowflakes from that same 9 yr old, gold curly ribbon and a few more gold ornament balls...Oh...the 9 yr old is in the background on the left...on the right is the 17 yr old.  Shhhhhhhhhh...see if they notice.

The theme for the bow windows ledge is, of all things, winter wonderland...I have blue lights under the white glittery cotton, a Santa helping a little girl ice skate (from my collection) a pair of faux ice skates, that have BELIEVE written on them in glittery letters, another Santa building a snowman and a sled with a snowman titled....Let it Snow...

Up close and personal with the sled, snowman, santa and skates...

Off to the powder room we go...
Please dont mind the wall paper, we moved in this June and are still winterizing things so the refinishing of the powder room isn't high on the list yet.
That June yard sale was a hit for me...did I mention I wasn't even going to stop at it???
I got the apothecary bell jar for $.10, yes, I did say $.10...
The theme in our powder room was Nature and the Outdoors, so I put greens a pinecone and a red bell in the jar... The Noel sign is a buy from The Christmas Tree Shop...Oh how I LOVE that store!!!!

The powder room continues...as you can see I have attempted the room with the blue tape...I should have colored it green to match..drats!!!  I added a candle ring to the soap dispenser, a Yankee Candle small pinecone dish and shade another one of my Santas...and Frosty in the back basket with eucalyptus and pips...

on the other side of the bathroom sink is the Nature lovin' Merry Christmas sign, pinecones and greens in the toothbrush and cup holder and Mr. Snowman with a birdhouse

On the back wall is a wreath of greens, pinecones, red bells and a big red bow...

The Peace on Earth sign is left up all year long...the cross stich Santa and victorian little girl was a very touching gift from a co- worker, many years ago, and the mistletoe... My little one (9) took a picture of the mistletoe...I asked her why she did that and she said, if I ever wanted to kiss Daddy I would just show the picture on the camera and put it over his head... She is such a sweetheart and is always thinking...

The family room is decorated in Americana style and the snowman fit perfectly on the perch of the birdhouse.

Two more Thomas Kinkade Santa's in the Family Room

Santa going through his sack

The angel in the vestibule, she was meant to be a tree top, But I don't always use things for the purpose intended, so I put her on the shelf, added greens, a gold curly ribbon, minature versions of "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" and a few bells...

Across the way is a glittery gold wire tree with vintage angels surrounding it... a Peace on Earth slate and 2 gold bows

My husband started collecting Nutcrackers a few years back and we have a few, the one on the left is from the Rockettes show in NYC, the one on the right is from Disney...

These 2 guys were gifts through the years with many more, however, with just moving in June, a flood in the fall, we are sure if we haven't found the rest of them or lost them in the flood... Let's hope there here somewhere
That is a bit of our decorating this year, 2010 and I hope to have more for you soon.

I'd like to start working on Valentine's Day, but I am just learning Blogging and as you can see, I am not very fast at postings.
Thank you so very much for visting me and I hope to see you soon.
Peace and Blessings,
Love,
Cindy :)

Christmas Tour of 2010

Merry Christmas *<l :)
This is our first Christmas in our new house and was I having fun.
I gave each room a "theme" and ran away with it.
I had so many things from years gone by and so many ideas in my head, how was I going
to get everything out in time and on the blog... Well, as you can see it's January 2, 2011 and I didn't.
Happy New Year everyone!!
I'd like you to join me for a tour of Christmas at my house.

Welcome to the Dining Room, the land of Gingerbread and Candy Canes.
The Lollipop bunch was made for less than $5.00 and looks great!!!
So many compliments and groans(the kids want to eat it)(Sorry guys, maybe next time)
The bottom container was a find for $1.00 as well as the 3 lollipops.  I had a piece of
floral foam, which I stuffed in the bottom, covered it with the "glittery cotton" that some
use as a tree skirt. (had that left from a few years ago) Made the ribbons from extra
pieces in my ribbon box and used miniature candy canes from another project.
Pretty cute for under $5.00 and under 5 minutes.

This is my deal of an apothecary jar.
Michael's, one of my favorite stores, had a 50% off coupon and it had
my name written all over it!!!
After using the coupon, the beautiful jar was $7.00.  I filled the jar with a bag
of peppermint taffy with cute little stripes and attached polka dot ribbon.
This one was less than $10.00 and under 10 minutes.
PLUS~ I can use the jar for another holiday and keep the picture
to set it up again for Christmas 2011.

Here is the dining room table
The lollipop bunch, a Santa decorating a gingerbread house (I collect Santa's and he is from my collection)
The little snowman was from Hallmark this year,
How cute is he??? Gumdrops on his belly that light up to the music.
He is sitting nicely on a cake plate( an old wedding gift that comes in handy so often)
topped with the "glittery cotton" as well as miniature candy canes facing
one another to shape a heart...Holidays and Love go hand in hand.
My husbands a nutcracker collector, so what is a collection without
a gingerbread/peppermint nutcracker? Well, it's actually one, I wanted...shhhhh
The Apothecary jar on the end with wooded stars, gingerbread cookies all on a
runner of gingerbread kids and houses.

Merry Little Christmas Greeting in a merry little frame.
I got the frames in the shiny red color 2/$1.00
printed a template in color and cut to size.
Thanks for stopping by the first part of my
Dining Room tour.

Halloween Night

Their creepy and their kooky, mysterious and spooky...oops...wrong one...This was a collaboration of Me and the Girls.  We certainly had fun!!!  The candlesticks in the back right corner, PB dupe, yep, spray painted thrift store candle sticks added black glitter candles as a half mask lies silently among them.  Two books we already had, Witch Season and Lehigh Valley ghost stories.  Oldest daughter's idea to add the POTION letters to the cauldron and fill it with orange lights.  With all lights out, the POTION pots gives off a spooky glow kind of hazy because of the cobwebs.  Added another spray painted black branch and a friendly little crow/raven clinging on for dear life.  The black roses ($ store roses we spray painted because Halloween stores want $5 or more) lie lifelessly waiting for the true love of the pianist who was playing Halloween night.  Spiders, a witches hat, a ghost, half mask and more cobwebs looks inviting for a ghost of the night to serenade his true love...  :)
